Merthyr Valleys Homes (MVH), a social landlord that owns and manages around 4,200 homes in the Borough of Merthyr Tydfil, has begun implementing software from MIS AMS that will improve its rent accounting, scheme accounting, SMS texting and arrears.

Once installed, MVH will use the software for its rent collection process, allowing it to manage arrears, track service charges and save time, increasing accuracy by linking data to the organisation’s customer relationship management system for use across the business.

“We wanted a specialist third party solution that could help us manage the rent and arrears across our client base, whilst delivering real value for money to tenants as we continue to grow,” explains Sharif Biharie, Head of ICT, Merthyr Valleys Homes.

“Improving financial viability helps us to manage funds and better serve our residents in terms of other services they need, such as repairs for example.

“We’re rolling out these elements to be used by our income team and selected financial personnel.”

The contract was signed in April, implementation began in May and the system is expected to go live before the end of the year.

Chris McLaughlin, managing director, MIS AMS said: “We’re delighted to be helping MVH to manage funds and better serve its tenants via our rent and arrears management tools. The organisation has shown a clear indication of what is required and has been well prepared for the transitions. We very much look forward to building a lasting relationship and growing our footprint in Wales.”
